Shahapur Taluka Education Society is one of the pioneering and leading educational institutions in Shahapur taluka (Thane, Maharashtra). It has number of schools including Junior college & College of Education at Shahapur. Since independence, S.T.E.S has played a major part in raising and improving educational facilities in Shahapur and adjacent rural areas.
Till independence there were very few educational facilities and because of such scarcity schools the children were lagging behind and the percentage of illiteracy was very high. S.T.E.S toiled hard and education was made available to all the parts of the society. Students educated in S.T.E.S institutions are now spread all over the world and many are serving nation on prestigious posts.
